Renaissance Ladies' Chorus

Under the direction of Musical Director Maire Hoppins, Renaissance is East Devon's only ladies' close harmony chorus.  The chorus was formed 6 years ago and has gone from strength to strength with Maire's musical knowledge and expertise proving invaluable.  Maire is ably assisted by Kay Richards as Deputy Musical Director to the chorus.

The chorus started with just 8 singers in July 2005, and now six years later we have 43 members!  Their love of singing has brought many different people together from all walks of life from accountants, solicitors, social workers, nurses, housewives and retired ladies - the list is endless and music has led to wonderful companionship and created lifelong friends.

The chorus sings in and around East Devon supporting both local and national charities and have regularly been invited to perform at the Exmouth Festival; they have also performed at the Devon Performing Arts Festival in Exeter, winning the Barbershop Class in 2009 and the Small Chorus Class in 2011 and have performed in Jersey's International Music Festival twice.
